Laboratory 1 - Current Computer Architectures

Assign: 04-02-2001                      Due: 04-16-2001

OBJECT:
To become familiar with current computer architectures and projects using the World Wide Web.
REFERENCE(S):
Patterson and Hennessy

PROCEDURE:
  1. Use the Computer Architecture Home Page CPU Info Center as starting points.
  2. A specific computer architecture project will be assigned to each student.
  3. Examine the assigned computer architecture project and summarize the problem addressed, the solution, major innovations and future development.

REPORT:
  1. Write a report in HTML.
  2. Discuss the computer architecture project in concise and meaningful terms.
  3. The report should contain links to support your arguments in the report.
  4. Limit the report length to two HTML pages with preformatted text i.e. about two single spaced typed pages.
  5. Use the HTML laboratory format.
  6. Name the document lab1.html and place the report in the subdirectory public_html/493 in your home directory on the departmental workstations.
